It was that unnecessary requirements make tasks harder, and context files should describe only minimal requirements. The problem isn't the filesystem as a persistence layer. The problem is people treating CLAUDE.md like a 2,000-word onboarding document instead of a concise set of constraints. Which brings us to the question of standards.
